I thought I’d share how to configure FlashFloppy as a high-density compatible internal DF1 in an Amiga 2000. The solution is very simple, but it took me a few days of head scratching….
The first step is obvious, in FF.CFG set interface=amiga. At this point the Gotek will work as high-density internal DF0 but double-density only internal DF1.
The second step is to move the jumper on the Gotek from S0 to S1, Again, obvious.
The third step is less obvious, do not install the jumper at J301 on the A2000 motherboard. This step seems counterintuitive because the manual states this jumper should be in place for internal DF1.
On close examination of the A2000 schematics you can see this jumper does not so much enable DF1, but connects the RDY line to a circuit that spoofs the ID sequence for a double-density drive. Once this jumper is removed the Gotek can send the correct ID sequence for both DD and HD disks to the CIA.
