From community member Mats:

I think it is a little bit difficult to infer this info (what's oss and what's commercal only) from the tracetest docs.

Read the full thread by Mats Taraldsvik in Tracetest Community Slack, here.

Todo:

  • improve main landing page docs explaining what is OSS and commercial
  • improve flow for users wanting each option
  • improve dedicated pages for OSS and commercial with specifics on features

Context:

Available in OSS

  • Tracetest Core functionality
  • Test triggers: HTTP/GRPC, traceId, Kafka
  • Test specs: selector language, assertions
  • Test automation options: CLI, Deep Link

Available in commercial

  • All the OSS features plus... All the usual commercial capability: SSO, accounts, organizations, roles, ability to run multiple environments, sharing, security.
  • Additional Test triggers: Cypress, Playwright, updated k6, and upcoming Artillery integrations
  • Grouping test runs: Availability to place a group of tests in a 'test run group', run them in parallel, and wait for all the tests to finish to give an overall 'pass / fail' (useful for stopping CI/CD processes when any of a group of test fails).
  • Test coverage overview: New run tab to monitor actively running tests with extensive meta tagging and filtering.
  • Upcoming secrets management.
