Description

Explore different options for accessing managed and local Redis instances from the Kyma cluster.

Reasons

Some teams that want to migrate to Kyma use Redis. Redis as technology should be used as a cache, but the problem is that there are teams among those that use Redis as a persistent storage.

Requirements:

Required

  • low latency
  • metrics and alerting
  • high availability (SAP Product standards)

Redis for Kyma clusters is developed and the feature is being tested on Canary by the Kyma team internally and by Stakeholders. Currently, the feature is being enabled by request, but soon we will allow it for the production landscape within the scheduled GA release of the Cloud Manager module.
