One of the features I like in Pi-Alert is the network map. I use it to keep track of which port connect to which cable and devices.
Unfortunately, most of my switches and hubs are unmanage. So to get around this here is what I do.
Create a blank proxmox container and start it to let Pi-Alert discover new device.
Open the device in pi-alert and rename it to reflect the switch you want it to represent.
Change type to "router"
Change scan cycle to 0 to stop it from scanning the container
Save setting.
Goto the network tab, click on the green + to add device, now it should show on the pull down list and give it the number of ports.
Thats it, now in any of your your device Details you can choose it as your uplink target under the "Network" section and assigns port number to it.
Shut down the container change the MAC and start the container again to get another device.
