One of the things that jonathansick (of codemeta) sites is a code4lib article that discusses BibJSON and how it links data called 'Indexing Linked Bibliographic Data with JSON-LD, BibJSON and Elasticsearch.' It goes through descriptions, a few record examples, indexing, and extendibility.
It says that it uses some BibTex conventions so here he main site about BibTex including how to use, file format, and BibTex tools. Might be helpful.
BibJSON looks to be an existing linked data standard that might be worthwhile to port to.
Differentiating DC standard Json and other forms of json might be an issue. For now -b and -B are available.
