Session names for multi-session deployments

May we consider adding the ability to name our multi-session sessions? See the reference image below.

We can support something like this but I would have the session name be set from the notebook. This means it cannot be set immediately but it should provide more flexibility. Thoughts @jonatanklosko?

No strong preference, but I don't see a good reason to edit it from the app (it may be weird if someone else joins and edits it). Also note that this is different from notebook name (= app name), so we would need a separate place in the UI, perhaps a subtitle.

This does sound useful, but I wouldn't mind waiting for concrete use cases to have a better idea what flows we want to improve.

@savish curious about what are you trying to do that this would help you with. Could you share more about that?

Hi! This isn't driven by a requirement, really. It is a thought that immediately occurred to me when I watched the presentation. Two or three sessions are easily distinguishable by time of creation, but being able to uniquely identify the various sessions whenever we get a whole list of them struck me as a win for general ergonomics. And from a personal perspective, I would assuredly name all of mine.

I suppose one could argue that if there were never a need to identify the sessions at all, then there would be no reason to display their start times either. But again, I am not proposing this out of some active use-case that I have 😊

I would also add that on Livebook Teams + ZTA, since we have an actual authentication proxy in front, we always show the user which started it. :)
