What are the thoughts on the editor/GUI aspects for the luxe engine going forward? I guess this will be clarified in future posts so it might be hard to answer at this point - but this is is one of the things that have been least discussed (from my point of view).

@DjPale yea I will talk about tools in the near future, the intent is to have tools around (you should recall the ui layout tool I made quick for mint recently).

I'm not a fan of an uberIDE approach though, so it won't be that. There's not much more to say on that front till then, I'll talk about how they're going to work and things in detail when I do.

As a new user just starting to use Luxe, would you recommend waiting a while until major breaking development changes have stopped?
How long do you expect it will be before you'd consider this new architecture to be stable?

Hi @Jumblemuddle! As the dev log suggests - the code that is there now is working fine for what it is, it has shipped games etc and It's not going anywhere. Essentially I'd say if you were planning a big project using the current state, it would be ill advised if you're hoping for longer term support (say, a year or whatever).

For smaller projects, prototypes and so on, even after the new code is up, it's not a big deal really.

With regards to when the new stuff will be ready, I'm working on figuring that out at the moment. I'd hesitate to indicate any particular timeframe, but I don't expect it to be all that long. At least, I'm hoping to be past this transition sooner than later, but I don't want to transition too soon and make it feel like a huge step back.

Does that answer what you're wondering, and if not do you have more specific concerns or questions?

Can we get an update on the status of the things discussed in the luxe dev log # 1? 🍰

Aside from general status updates (I wanted to post something, end of year is always weird!) is there anything in particular you're wondering about?

Nothing particular, no. I was just wondering how the update's going and what to expect. It's been a while and I'm curious :)

Great! There's not much concrete information in it but I'll look forward to some status posts for elaboration! :)
