Feature Request: Ability to show different icon when the item is installing

When installing an item it would be nice to have an option to show a different icon like an animated gif icon.

For example I have an MS Office icon, when Office begins to install the icon changes to an MS Office icon animated gif that I create that has a little spinner on it. Once complete it switches back to the previous icon or even a third state completed icon which could be a greyed out version.

We find some items take a long time to install and users think the Mac has stopped, so switching to an icon with a spinner might help.
