What is shortcut and how to use it

Shortcut is a link that allows you to open your digital documents (on drives or servers) with just one click. It minimizes your surfing time and open the digital document quickly with a click. It can be added at client view or at task view.

In order to use the shortcuts, you will have to install the plugins on your device, depending on the browser that your use -

A. Plugin for Google Chrome

1. Click on the below link -
   https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/local-explorer-file-manag/eokekhgpaakbkfkmjjcbffibkencdfkl
2. Click on 'Add to Chrome'
   
3. Download the exe from URL – http://goo.gl/trX9bB (opens new window)and double click on the exe file downloaded. Follow the installation steps to install
4. Reboot your laptop or PC once.

B. Plugin for Mozilla Firefox

1. Click on the below link -
   https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/local-filesystem-links/
2. Click on “+ Add to Firefox” button. This will install the plugin to Firefox Browser.
   
3. When you click on the Add button, it will download the plugin and give you a pop up box as shown in image below. Click on "Add" button.
   
4. Download the exe file from URL – https://github.com/AWolf81/webextension_local_filesystem_links-native-host-binaries/raw/master/win32/native-app-setup.exe (opens new window)Double click on the exe file downloaded and follow on-screen instruction. (Basically clicking on “Next” button 2 times)

Once the installation is completed, you need to restart the Firefox browser.
In case you get an antivirus warning, you can safely ignore it. It is a false positive

You can click on '+' to add shortcut and click on ADD

Here you are just pointing your drive or say adding a path to open your digital files
