Hi,

I am using the emporia vue add on to get my energy monitoring data into home assistant.

I have added all my devices to grid consumption in the energy tab. However, i get a weird display on the graph. Every day at 12-am-1am, it shows the energy consumption for the whole day, for that 1 hour. then at 1am-2am, it shows a days data, however in the minus. This does not corollate to the data shown on the emporia web app.

Thanks

That happens most often if the Home Assistant server's time zone does not match the time zone set for the devices in the Emporia app. If you look at the history for one of the 1D sensors, it should drop down to zero right after midnight. If you see it drop down, then spike back up to before, and then drop down again an hour later, then your timezones aren't aligned.

It should look like this

Thanks, that certainly was incorrect! Some were set wrong, but most were not set at all. I did notice it was wrong in the emporia app too, but didn't link the 2 issues together.

I don't think they were wrong before though. Not sure if they changed zone, or if some update to the app caused it.

Anyway, I have changed them and will report back in a few days to see how it has affected the data.

Thanks!

Update.

This is how it was previously showing. Big positive spike at 12am-1am and then a big negative spike at 1am-2am.

Now, since changing the time zones, it is showing as below. There is an improvement, but still not right. This time by hovering over the bar at 12am-1am, I can see only one emporia device is showing a negative at 1am-2am. I have tried re setting the time zone on this device and also set its location, as it was previously showing in USA, instead of UK. We will see what that does.

Also, there is a big positive spike at 1am-2am. This is due to 1 device too. However, this device is currently offline (typical problem for me due to company IT issues blocking the devices). Not sure why HA is still showing a figure though instead of just 0 for example.

Apparently I'm unable to figure out linking in github... if you copy and paste that link into a browser it works, but clicking it does not.

Ah, I see. I dont know either. But regarding their issue, I think maybe I have had that issue too. But looks like that means I have had multiple issues maybe. Theirs is not going negative like mine.

Today, for the first time, it has been correct so far.

However, some examples of days prior, where the change to timezones etc had already been made.
