LipSync was observed with the mouthpiece hanging down and not centered. Upon disassembly, noticed that the sled was broken on one side near the outer bearing.

This fracture occurs in a fairly thin section:

i16.60 mm layer

When installed, this portion should be well supported by the extension on the Middle Housing.

This may have resulted from difficulty in inserting the Sled into the Middle Housing (i.e., the Sled got stuck in the slot and attempting to push it in led to this failure.

The Sled groove in the Middle Housing should be modified to make it easier to insert the sled. Currently there are square corners where the Sled inserts.

Additional suggestions:

  1. Add a step in the Maker Guide to dry-fit the Sled into the Middle Housing before the Gimbal is assembled into the Sled.
  2. Add some sort of feature in the Sled and/or Middle Housing to help indicate that the Sled is inserted to the proper depth.
  3. Break the sharp edges on the rear magnet holder on the Sled.
