Please confirm these before moving forward.

  • I have searched for my feature proposal and have not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved/discarded issue.
  • This proposal is a completely new feature. If you want to suggest an improvement or an enhancement, please use this template.

Describe the new feature

I imagine it would be great if WingetUI could be used in Intune Portal for application deployment.

Instead of packaging and manual interaction, one could select Modern Store App template (which uses winget but has no catalog access), then using WingetUI to search for applications and fill out all forms for Intune to deploy an application OR update.

A very early but technically outdated idea comes from Andrew Taylor:

Describe how this new feature could help users

currently app deployment in Intune is still very time-consuming task, despite a large subset of great tools.
Sure, one could pay more for Intune Premium to gain access to curated application.

Maybe it is possible to haggle with the Intune Team to get this working if they might want to flag this as "unsupported".
I would still love to see this happening.

I'll need to fully investigate this, but perhaps it is an interesting feature to implement
