Typespeed Slow but Fast when Devtool is Open #612

I created this text animation on my home page, but I notice a strange behavior.

The animation is very slow when I first open up the page. It does not speed up even if I change the type speed to -100.

However, if I open up chrome inspection tool, it suddenly speeds up.

If I close the dev tool, the speed remains high.

But if I refresh the page, the speed goes back to being slow.
