Windows Image Update Script (WIP)

Overview

This script updates a Windows image (WIM) by integrating drivers and MSU updates. It can also export third-party drivers from the current system.
Key Features

Integrate Drivers and Updates: Add drivers and MSU updates to a Windows image.
Export Drivers: Export third-party drivers from the current system.
ISO Handling: Mount and modify the install.wim from a Windows ISO.

Usage

Prepare: Place the ISO, drivers, and MSU updates in the IMG, DRIVER, and MSU folders.
Run: Execute the script with administrator privileges in PowerShell.
Final Step: Replace the original install.wim with the modified version.

Important Notes:

This script works only if the USB boot stick was NOT created with the Media Creation Tool.
The entire process can take a long time, depending on the size of the image and updates.
Do not manually add drivers to the DRIVER folder unless you know what you are doing. Use the export function provided by this script for third-party drivers.

Considerations

Admin Rights: Must be run as an administrator.
DISM Functions Used: Mount-WindowsImage, Add-WindowsDriver, Add-WindowsPackage, and Dismount-WindowsImage.

Known Issues:
The script currently uses a fixed index (-Index 5) with the Mount-WindowsImage cmdlet:

Mount-WindowsImage -ImagePath $destinationWimPath -Index 5 -Path $mountDir -LogLevel Errors

This index corresponds to a specific Windows version within the WIM file. However, the correct index depends on which Windows version you intend to modify.

You can list all available Windows versions within the WIM file along with their respective indices using:

Get-WindowsImage -ImagePath <pathTo.\install.wim> | Select ImageName, ImageIndex

A future update may include a prompt to allow the user to select the appropriate index.
