Describe the bug

I have set the option for 'new line trigger' to shift + enter and yet when I put enter by itself it creates a new line and if I push shift and enter it creates a new line, but it wont save the card and allow me to create a new card, essentially I am stuck in editing mode and cant get out of it by pushing enter. I have tried switching the 'new line trigger' to just enter but that doesn't fix the issue, both shift + enter and just enter create a new line no matter what setting I put it to. I wanted to see maybe if its just my vault so I made a brand new one with no other plugins and this problem still persisted

Expected Behavior

when I push enter it should take me out of editing the card so I can create another card and not delete all the things I wrote in a card when I try and click out of the card

Steps to reproduce

push enter and see a new line will be created, push shift + enter and a new line will be created, there is no way to get out of the editing mode and save your writing

Relevant errors (if available)

No response

I have the same error, have tried uninstalling plugin, new boards, and new vault, and the issue is persistent. I can't use the plugin as is.

Hi all, I am unable to reproduce this issue on my end. Are there any errors in obsidian's developer console when you press enter or shift+enter? You can open it with ctrl+shift+i / command+opt+i

Also, you might try disabling other plugins to see if any interfere with Kanban in some way.

This is the error that pops up when trying to create a new card. I also tried to turn off all plugins, but it still didn't work.

Also this bug was discussed before here: #925. Last video in the comments suggests that someone solved it, but he didn't share the solution.

Okay, I solved my problem. I just updated Obsidian and made sure than none other hotkeys used Shift+Enter. Thanks for the guy above. The solution was so simple, that now i feel stupid.

I had the same problem. A duplicate hot key caused it.
Maybe there is a way to check if this hotkey is already occupied, and if so, show a warning on the settings page of this plugin? That would be a good quality of life feature.

Anyway if you want to check manually you can do it by:

  1. Open your settings.
  2. Go to Options > Hotkeys
  3. Click on the keyboard icon in the search filter. This allows you to filter based on the hotkey shift + enter.
  4. Remove any hotkey that uses shift + enter

Have same issue, Enter or Shift + Enter not create new line.
In Hotkeys setting I don't have any others commands for either Enter or Cmd + Enter.
This tiny thing make plugin usability useless…(

Did somebody solve this issue?
