Microsoft PowerToys version

Installation method

PowerToys auto-update

Running as admin

No

Area(s) with issue?

Mouse Without Borders

Steps to reproduce

Connect two computers (both are using the same PowerToys version). Position the monitors so that the host computer is directly beneath the client computer. Allow the host computer to go to sleep. Wake the host and refresh the connections.

✔️ Expected Behavior

On refreshing the connection, the two computer should seamlessy reconnect and everything should continue the way it was before.

❌ Actual Behavior

PowerToys will refuse to allow the host computer's monitor to be positioned directly underneath the client's monitor. It insists on the host being to the right. The only solution is to exit PowerToys on both computers and restart it on both.

It turns out that just restarting doesn't always fix the problem. What I've just had to do is:

  • Start PowerToys on Computer A.
  • Position the monitor configuration with A above B.
  • Completely exit PowerToys on Computer A.
  • Start PowerToys on Computer B.
  • Position the monitor configuration with A above B.
  • Start PowerToys again on the Computer A.
