Open a command prompt as administrator and execute the following commands one by one, only proceeding when the previous command has finished.
Try installing the distro again. If it works, great. If it doesn't, try clearing the Microsoft Store Cache. You can do that by pressing the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog. Type WSReset.exe and press Enter. If it works, great. If it still doesn't work, you can try creating a new user account and try installing the distro once again. Kind regards |

I have a colleague who experiencing issue with installing any distro within WSL, while everyone else did not experience such issue.
We have Microsoft Store disabled; hence we could only install it via command line.
wsl --list --online is able to list the valid distro that could be installed, and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is on the list for him.
