Instagram direct links not properly formatted

I have the following config for IG and it works nearly perfectly. I have 2 questions.

If I pass a link to a profile, a single story or instagram.com/stories/USERNAME/ everything works fine and the files are correctly named (with date, category and description).

However if I pass a direct link to post or a reel the files are not named as I wanted, no date or description. But they are put in the correct folder

This is not so important.

If I scrape tagged posts the posts are added to the creator's folder (not a wrong behavior) but when triggered by UserX I wanted the tagged post to also go to UserX folder not the original creator.

I tried to add something like I have for reddit "parent-directory": true, but didn't work

You can test with gallery-dl -E YOURURL to see which subcategory gets used for your URL, and adjust the options accordingly.

The subcategory of direct links (instagram.com/p/ID) is always post regardless of the actual post type.

so I can't change that format via config file? sidecar is only used by IG it seems

Filename format (default):

You can, but adding something like _story to the name will not be that simple.

Add the following to your settings and direct links will at least have the same filename format as regular posts:

And only now I understood what you meant by adding _story would not be simple, how to distinguish if the direct link was a post or a reel.

But having date is what really matters, description is nice to have and the type of post really not necessary, I just add because I can.

tagged posts

There's tagged_owner_id, tagged_username, and tagged_full_name available for these. The values in user[...] should also refer to the user given in the input URL.
