Need help with instead of downloading, writing links to a text file.

Basically the situation I'm in is there is a celebrity with thousands of tagged posts and I'm trying to get to the ones that are years ago.

I'm aware of how to download instagram tagged posts normally and it saves the progress of where you got to. However, for my use case, it would be much more useful if there wasn't a huge amout of time spent, downloading every post just for me to run out of storage, delete them all and carry on the program. The part that I want to change is instead of it downloading every post, I would rather it write the link of the post to a text file, and potentially the date of the post but that doesn't matter much.

-g/--get-urls will output download URLs instead of downloading them.
>> will redirect and append output to a file.

gallery-dl -g URL >> urls.txt

To include the date as well:

gallery-dl --filter 0 --print-to-file "post:{date} {post_url}" urls.txt URL

hey i dont know if its an issue with print-to-file but i couldnt get cursors to work. do you know why?

Definitely not an issue caused by --print-to-file. Couldn't say why cursors don't work for you, especially not without a concrete example / --verbose log / etc.

i'm having such a hard time but i'm determined to get this.

currently now my issue is i have 5 different cookie files to 5 different instagram accounts but now all but 1 has stopped working for some reason.

do you know if the Username & Password method works on instagram? or if the OAuth method works?

or do u recommend I keep redownloading cookies and keep trying?

They do not. The only method to authenticate with IG is cookies.
