CMake is a build system generator, we're currently using it to build openr2 on both
linux and windows systems. For instructions on how to build on windows, please see
README.windows.
In Linux openr2 already comes with a standard ./configure and Make files, so you don't
need CMake.
If you want to bootstrap cmake on Linux yourself, follow these steps:
1. From outside the source tree, create a "build dir": mkdir openr2-build
2. Enter openr2-build: cd openr2-build
3. Assuming openr2 sources are inside 'openr2.trunk' directory AND that this directory
is at the same level as openr2-build, run: cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr ../openr2.trunk
4. Build it: make
5. Install: sudo make install
6. Run ldconfig: sudo ldconfig
You can specify variables definition on step 3, through -DVAR=VALUE. To also generate r2dtmf_detect and
r2test binaries, for example, you would use:
cmake -DDWANT_R2TEST=1 -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr ../openr2.trunk
After this, you should see libopenr2 listed on the output of 'ldconfig -p' command. If you have any
build problems and want to debug the gcc command line used, instead of just 'make', run 'make VERBOSE=1'
on step 4.
