test 00 GPU problems

After setup I tried running test 00 but ran in to some issues after input 8. Below is my output from running input #8.
I am using a macbook air M1 and have followed the steps in the instructions, very well written btw.

I first tried google and it seems I am not the only one encountering this.
input 8 :

train_data = tf.data.Dataset.from_tensor_slices((train_images, train_labels))
test_data = tf.data.Dataset.from_tensor_slices((test_images, test_labels))

train_data = train_data.batch(BATCH_SIZE).prefetch(tf.data.AUTOTUNE)
test_data = test_data.batch(BATCH_SIZE).prefetch(tf.data.AUTOTUNE)

Any ideas as to why its not working?
My times for training are not horrific but not as fast as expected.
I cannot choose any other kernel for jupyter notebook than ipykernel. (I am unfamiliar with the different types of kernels possible)
