Bootloop

So I downloaded and ran your program. It worked fine, but when I went to reboot the raspberrypi, it rebooted into a boot loop.

this may or may not be because of this, but all I recall getting is this and nginx. Nginx is very reliable and used, so I put it out there. I hope you find the error if there is one.

Update: I unplugged the stuff in the USB and it took a few boots, but it eventually booted.

to reproduce: plug something in, turn it off using this program and reboot

uhubctl is simply sending control message to the hub to turn port power off.

It is impossible to keep any state after reboot.
That said, if you have some non-compliant devices connected (self-powered!), it is theoretically possible that such device gets into weird state that even after your Raspberry Pi reboots and Linux USB is rescanning devices, it gets confused by rogue device and reboots.

To solve this issue, I recommend few steps:

1. Update Raspberry Pi firmware
2. Update Linux kernel. Modern kernels tend to better handle non-compliant USB devices, and this may fix your problem
3. Try to pinpoint which connected USB device is causing this reboot loop - perhaps disconnect your devices one by one until you figure out one that is causing you trouble. While not highly likely, but it may be possible to update firmware on such device to make it USB compliant.
4. Extremely unlikely, but if you are running uhubctl older than 2.4.0, be sure to update it before retrying. Older uhubctl didn't handle USB3 properly (however, it still should be impossible to cause your issue).
