Dear community,

We appreciate contributions very much ! As you might notice, the Issues log has gotten quite big over the past years. This is because maintenance has been let down for some time ; but it has now been active again in the past few months !

What to contribute

So, if you would like to contribute, first thing is do not get scared and run away when you see so many open Issues.
Then, you can :

• Help us clean the Issues log by pointing out those you see most relevant / not relevant / stale
• Post new ideas in "Ideas" section of the Discussions ; or in the "Issues" log => but please check first that it is not a duplicate of another Issue
• Pick topics from the TODO Wiki that you would especially like => this wiki sums up quite a few of the open Issues

How to contribute

From now on, we will be creating branches for every release, prefixed with rc/. So if you make a PR, please target one of these. For example, we currently have :

• rc/5.0.1 => this is a patch release => small changes to this one. For instance, fixing typos in the docs, extending code coverage, etc...
• rc/5.1.0 => this is a minor release => bigger changes that will require time to be reviewed / need further work / potential breaking changes, etc...

Note that it's not time to think about a version 6, as we sync those numbers with Neo4j major version and 6 should not be out for some years still.

We recently updated the main README with how to setup your local environment, but it might be sparse, so please come back with feedback on this.
