Stop hovering pop-ups appearing when detailed event info is already open?

In the calendar:

Situation:

Boxes appear when you hover over an event. (hover-boxes)
other boxes (more detailed) appear when you click on an event. (detailed-boxes)

Suggestion:

So, once you have an opened a detailed-box (because you clicked on an event), maybe the hover-boxes should stop appearing?
otherwise the screen gets a little overcrowded and can look confusing (see inline image)

Does this make sense?
