Since the open-web-calendar is hosted in may places, it would be nice to give people the choice of which platform to use. There is a start but it is not easy to contribute to this.

Idea:

The Open Web Calendar could post to service online if it is used under a certain hostname.
This hostname can be checked and if valid, it is added to the documentation.
Hostnames like localhost and such are not useful.

  • service endpoint is configurable
  • this is opt-in via specification
  • the server itself reports this, not the client (privacy)
