I never really looked into Windows support but sounds (from Tony D's video) like FUSE support is a dead-end. Perhaps there's a native Windows API which could do this, in the same way that 7zip and so on can link their contents into the file tree ... clutching at straws here but maybe there's Python bindings!

... but I think the approach taken by 'mpy-watch' is probably sufficient.

I have been using mpy-sync with WSL successfully in most cases. Exceptions are binary files associated with btree and images. It would be nice if mpy-sync transferred binaries nicely.
