That is not entirely true, they don't have to be as I have coded for this in our own utility. We aren't using our util because we also need test plan/suite migration which ours does not support. It is possible to read just the comments from the revision history and not do any of the other revision playback. If the tool currently doesn't support it, then we'll have to live with what it does. |

It's entirely true in the TFS Object Model which is the API we use. There is no Object Model API to access comments outside of History. |

How do you migrate the Work Item discussions with ReplayRevisions set to false?
For performance related issues or because the history has invalid data we want to just migrate the "tip" of the work item without replaying revisions. However, when revisions are not replayed I am not getting any of the comments/discussion migrated. I don't need the state change history or anything like that, but the comments and discussions are needed.
