The portable version of blender stores it's addon folder in the main Blender folder, not in the standard location. It would be great if I could specify custom addon install locations. Also, as an addition, maybe make the add on manager itself have a portable mode itself, where it stores any data it may use in it's own folder.

Even better, I would love to be able to transfer addons from one portable, say "c:\portablePrograms\Blender-2.78", to a different one, say "c:\portablePrograms\Blender-2.79".
This as far as I know still needs to be done manually, and it would be amazing to be able to automate it.

Thanks for feature request.

First request:

This feature already in the current version.
You may use Custom Add-on feature to realize it.

There are no features to realize this feature.
I will add to my idea about it.

But I have a question about it.
We can not distinguish installed add-on between installation version and portable version, because these applications share same add-on directory. And it is a specification of Blender.
Do you want to transfer the add-ons among the custom directories. is it right?

Great! I had not seen the custom addon feature option!
To answer your question, yes. I would love if I could transfer all custom addons from one portable version to another portable version, without transferring all the stock addon files. I don't know if this is difficult or not, but doing it by hand is an enormous pain. The ability to transfer addons between custom locations would be wonderful.

OK, I add this feature as feature request.
But I'm now busy for other project.
Please wait until I implemented.
