As part of our work in aligning terms defined in the french vocabulary SANDRE and the BODC PUV parameter dictionary, we need to model the following parameter: quantity of DNA adducts per mole of DNA measured in biological entities (see https://mdm.sandre.eaufrance.fr/node/297915)
The quantity is expressed in moles per mole.
Quantities with "mole per mole" units can be linked to the quantity kind "Mole fraction" however this might not be appropriate here. The definition we used for mole fraction in S06 is: "Ratio of the amount expressed in moles of a component divided by the total number of moles of all constituents in a mixture.". So it could apply however we could also use "Proportion".
So we could have the following combinations:
S06 property = Proportion or Mole fraction
S27 chemical compound = DNA adducts
S02 (relationship phenomena-matrix) = "per unit mole of DNA" (or we could we have "DNA" as a Subcomponent of the biological entity definition?) e.g.
S26 matrix = biota {biological entity specified elsewhere [Subcomponent: DNA]}
Giving us the P01 label:
"Proportion of DNA adducts per unit mole of DNA of biota {biological entity specified elsewhere}"
or
"Proportion of DNA adducts in biota {biological entity specified elsewhere [Subcomponent: DNA]}"
If I had to choose between only these two, I think that I would favour option 1 because it keeps a cleaner separation between the biological entity and its chemical components; I also think I'd prefer using "Proportion" rather than "Mole fraction" in this case. I welcome alternative views/comments/advice.
In the meantime I will do some background research to check the usage of this parameter.

DNA adducts are defined in Wikipedia as "a segment of DNA bound to a cancer-causing chemical" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNA_adduct).
