Hello,

@fbastian

subsetdef: granular_stage "Subset consisting of classes describing highly granular developmental stages (for instance, '23-year-old'). Such stages might be useful for annotation purpose, but might be folded into less granular parents for display purpose."

sorry, still not clear for me what has to be 'hidden' by the tag 'subset: granular_stage'?

I understand that the tag 'subsetdef: granular_stage' should be added to non-relevant stages regarding anatomical development, but it is not so easy to define these stages for a given animal, specially when expression data are routinely associated with a stage for model animals.

Do we consider all species specific stages have to be conserve in the display? (means, not tagged)
such as the 'Hamburger Hamilton stages' for the chicken? (up to 21 stages...)

What about the first months (=12 months!) during the first year of the animal, when this information is routinely available in expression data of model animals?

Thank you for any help here in this tentative 'harmonization process' through the ontologies.

Cheers,

Anne
