Hello!
I am trying to implement a server and a client using docker containers and setup communication, however when I ran <make tests -e LTESTS=""> on either server or client the following error occurs:

Difficult to comment without knowing the environment/setup you're using.... Have you tried using the ready-made docker image at docker hub openquantumsafe/openssh? Or used the Dockerfile in oqs-demos?

Hmm -- there is no directory named "/home/ssh_project" in the openquantumsafe/openssh image. Please provide exact steps to reproduce.

Here is what I did: first I pulled the image from the docker hub, created a container with it, attached, entered folder home and mkdir ssh_project and entered;
Next I did git pull and processed steps in Quick start.
Then I saved this container as a separate image, and created two new container name server and client.
I tested "python3 oqs-test/try_connection.py" on both with no error occurring. it is very confusing to me why "make tests -e LTESTS=""" cannot work as expected.

What did you enter?

Most confusing is this statement:

So everything is OK?

Can you please state which of the various containers you executed this in (and how exactly you created the corresponding image)?

apologies for making you feel confused!

To start with, I created a container from the openquantumsafe/openssh image, named container0

by entered I mean cd from the root directory into several subfolders
$ cd home/ssh_project/openssh
home folder exists when the container was created; ssh_project is a folder I created; openssh is the resources pulled from open quantum-safe GitHub.

After going through processes in Quickstart - Building OQS-OpenSSH, I tried python3 oqs-test/try_connection.py and got
Success! Key Exchange Algorithm: classic-mceliece-348864-sha256. Signature Algorithm: ssh-ecdsa-nistp256-sphincssha256128fsimple.

To store the above changes in order to duplicate, I ran
docker commit container0 ssh_image

Next, I created a server and a client container from ssh_image
and last I started those two containers, tried to run make tests -e LTESTS="" and result in the above messages in either of the containers.

Thanks for the additional information. I still cannot follow what you did: By creating "a container from the openquantumsafe/openssh image" you a) do not get the tooling required to build oqs-openssh -- making the subsequent steps you describe impossible and b) already have a working oqs-openssh image -- so why do you need to re-build it? So for example, did you re-build liboqs as per the Quickstart or did you just use the executables already built into the image?

I apologize for having to conclude that

I cannot invest more time into a question not coming with a script allowing immediate reproduction of the problem
there are colleagues more deeply involved with the oqs-openssh subproject, so I'd like to ask @christianpaquin @xvzcf to take a look.

Finally the question to @xvzcf whether this discussion shouldn't be moved to open-quantum-safe/openssh (I don't have permission to do so).
