[Enhancement] Possibility to display a grid on the canvas

I think it could be really useful to have a way to display a grid on the map.
I tried with a grid layer, but it is not flexible (in terms of size), it is quite heavy and I have to clip the layer to my field area for every projects.

This grid would have some options to specify lengh and width of segments or eventualy the surface of each grid. And another option to rotate it.

I guess this grid would appear only in the canvas and cannot be selected.
