Hi!

A year ago I started in a new job and was told to create a new "company" GitHub account. I now know I should insist on using my personal account instead as GitHub recommends... 😩

I finally got to solving this dual-account situation somehow and found this article on GitHub Docs.

The thing Im not sure about is this part:

• Any commits authored with a GitHub-provided noreply email address cannot be transferred from one account to another. If the account you want to delete used the Keep my email address private option, it won't be possible to transfer the commits authored by the account you are deleting to the account you want to keep.

Of course I had the Keep my email address private option ON ( it is on by default...🤦). Does that mean Im done? Is there anything I can do?

Because I read further and got to this article about linking the commits based on the email address in From: field of a commit. It gave me some hope, because when I checked the commits I want to transfer there is my actuall email address in the From: field and not the GitHub generated one.

What do you think? Is there any chance I can merge these accounts together and view the contribution activity from the "company" account on my personal account profile?
