Hi!
A year ago I started in a new job and was told to create a new "company" GitHub account. I now know I should insist on using my personal account instead as GitHub recommends... 😩
I finally got to solving this dual-account situation somehow and found this article on GitHub Docs.
The thing Im not sure about is this part:
Of course I had the Keep my email address private option ON ( it is on by default...🤦). Does that mean Im done? Is there anything I can do?
Because I read further and got to this article about linking the commits based on the email address in
From:
field of a commit. It gave me some hope, because when I checked the commits I want to transfer there is my actuall email address in theFrom:
field and not the GitHub generated one. What do you think? Is there any chance I can merge these accounts together and view the contribution activity from the "company" account on my personal account profile?
Thanks for any tips in advance!
