Icicle Kit as a USB Host #372
-
USB Host functionality on the Icicle Kit. Have Yocto Linux (core-image-minimal-dev + USBUTILS, version 2023.06) running and if we boot with a memory stick in the USB port (J16) then the device lights up (has a bright backlight) is enumerated as expected, can be mounted etc. Upon removal and re-insertion the device behaves as expected and can be accessed. HOWEVER. if we boot without the memory stick inserted and then insert the memory stick after the Icicle Kit is booted then the backlight for the memory stick does not come on and the insertion is a non event, hence cannot access the device. Question is has anyone been down this path?? As an aside this test requires a special USB memory stick that has a micro USB connector or a microUSB to USB A adapter Thx! Dave |

Ok answering my need to have both USB jumpers shorted, that would be J15 and J17, I only had J17 shorted, the User Guide for the Icicle Kit is vague about the purpose of J15, just as a USB ID. It's the OTG jumper, so now I can insert and remove the memory stick after the Kit is booted and the behavior is as expected. |
