Please List UnGoogled Chromium

UnGoogled Chromium is the upstream codebase of Bromite, which is currently already endorsed & listed on Privacy Guides.

It features privacy enhancements similar to FireFox, and can be made more ad resistant by using uBO & other plugins.

For users who have a genuine need to utilize the plugin ecosystem of Chromium, UnGoogled Chromium is a far more private option than Google's version, and a far less contentious option than Brave browser.

UnGoogled Chromium is technically a build/compile script- one which Bromite openly acknowledges using. Not sure how that has escaped the scrutiny of this group.

So, saying that users who need to use Chromium plugins might as well "give up" and just use Brave? That comes across as unhelpful.

Well if there would be a better alternative than brave it would surely have been discussed and potentially be listed here. But ungoogled-chromium just isn't recommendable.

They used patches from ungoogled-chromium which isn't the same as being their upstream if I understand correctly

They used patches from multiple different browsers but I believe they are still based on chromium and not any of these forks

We don't recommend this as they don't have an automated build system. Binaries are produced by third parties.

They also have some rather silly decisions such as disabling CRLSets which we think reduces security.
