I'd be curious to know if you'd accept Lunatask into the directory. Lunatask is encrypted privacy-focused productivity and note-taking app.

It does not use any in-app product analytics and does not collect any information in-app besides the user's email address to be able to identify his account (though it recommends anonymizing the email address using SimpleLogin or AnonAddy). It uses Plausible for website analytics.

Open-sourcing is planned once the development moves forward a bit more and slows down.

Certainly looks interesting. Your app stands out functionality wise from the current selection of recommended productivity tools.

I read through the data security and privacy policy pages and was pleased with what is there. I'll try out the app for a couple days and report back with my findings.

While I think the current productivity tool recommendations are pretty solid, I feel there is some room for expansion.

Be careful about that, because I've seen some very alpha, and poor quality products do super aggressive marketing that leads me to believe those particular projects have an undisclosed benefactor. (Not saying that's the case here).

As Jonah said, The App seems to look great. Does it Provides various Syncing options like Joplin ?

Can I self-host the Server like Joplin ?

Well, I haven't tried the App for myself. But as you assure things about Privacy by default, I am looking forward to use Lunatask.

Is e2e Enabled by Default ?

Yes, there's not even an option to turn it off. The only place where something might be stored unencrypted is when you decide to share a note publicly on the internet (for obvious reasons, the note sharing dialog will tell you that this is the case before you enable note sharing).

Thanks for lettig me know. I think I might switch to Lunatask. But, Do you have import feature to import from Joplin ?

Unfortunately, there are no import options for notes, at least not yet. Although, I could expose the API for creating notes fairly easily.

Also, keep in mind that many features are not yet implemented in the note editor (check the Idea Voting Portal linked above), namely support for tables, embedding images, file attachments, bi-directional linking, etc. But, I think all of these should be added by the end of the year.

@mikekreeki This really sounds to be a great project, an all-in-one app for notes, tasks and calendar is a dream. Are translations scheduled?

Full translations are not planned for the near future. The main reason is that for each new feature or copy change one would need to wait for all translations to be made by other people and it would again slow things down significantly.

But, I'd like to add localization of dates, at least. Even for myself, being a non-native English speaker, it just takes more time to visually parse the English date format. That will hopefully come sooner than later 🤞

I can show you whatever you want e.g. over Zoom and can share all the crypto code in a Gist (there's not much going on given it does not roll its own encryption, instead all the actual work is delegated to NaCl library).
