Can we add when was a section last reviewed?

This would help to give an idea of how old the information on the website is and if one needs to consider looking if things changed in the meantime.

I was doing this in another project and technically this could be as simple as:

• adding date: YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:SS +0000 to the YAML front matters
• referring to {{ page.date }}

However I wonder who would be allowed to add the date? Whoever was doing a pull request (what if multiple people were doing that?) or the team who would then have to do another commit or require a pull request for changing the date. What if it was forgotten?

How is it different from site.time variable?

site.time is simply when Jekyll was run so any change to anywhere at all on the site would update it defeating the point of section specific times. Additionally I think it didn't work in GitHub Pages (in the other project) so I am not sure if it will work in other hosts such as Netlify previews.

Personally, I dislike manual solutions like the one suggested by @Mikaela. What could be a better alternative is a link to the commit history (example) for every page on every page. It wouldn't be quite as simple as a date on the site, but it'd be a one-click link to that page's specific history which wouldn't be so bad.

We'd probably need to wait for some of our major website changes to be finished before implementing anything like this.

I think that recently like a fellow redditor did just not changes made and link to the comment in Issue or Discussion why it was changed would be simple though.
