RX 6800 XT does not show up as OpenCL device

I recently installed an RX 6800 XT, and while listed by lshw and rocminfo, it does not show up as a device in clinfo. The platform AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing is listed, but with no devices. I've updated all the rocm and hsa packages to 5.1.1-1 but the problem persists. What can I do to solve this? Is this a known issue? In case it is relevant, the system also has a Quadro M4000, that also runs OpenCL with the proprietary NVidia drivers.

Well at least it is a good sign that the GPU is showing up in rocminfo.

For clinfo can you post the command of which clinfo?

Edit can you post the exact output of clinfo Is it something like this:

Number of platforms:				1
  Platform Name:				AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
Number of devices:				0

Just to make sure keep on using clinfo instead of /opt/rocm/bin/clinfo.

I see, yeah this will requiring going through some upstream code. I suggest you make an upstream issue at https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm-OpenCL-Runtime

I tried installing, the opencl-amd package (the one that's repackaged from Ubuntu), and it seems to work for some reason, so perhaps it's not an upstream issue.
