Describe the bug
Push 4d90915 broke the Linux build - it includes headers that don't appear to be valid in C++ 11 on ubuntu, as well as a number of functions and defines that won't run in the unix environment in the build instructions (e.g. strcpy_s, associated flages)

Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Follow build instructions on Ubuntu 22.04
