PeaZip, multi-platform portable file browser and archive manager utility, is meant to deploy a single graphic user interface for multiple Open Source data compression technologies (7-Zip, FreeArc, UPX, ZPAQ), to provide an unified user experience for many file-management tasks on multiple devices and systems, as free alternative to traditional Zip file utilities as WinZip and WinRar.
PeaZip is developed using Lazarus/FreePascal IDE, and was successfully compiled on Windows, Linux and BSD systems, for i386, x86_64 and ARM architectures. Binary packages are available either in portable and installable form for Windows (9x, ReactOS, 2K, XP, Vista, 7, 8/8.1, 10), Linux, and BSD. PeaZip is desktop agnostic (does not rely on specific desktop environment) and can work on mainstream desktop environments (e.g. Gnome, KDE,...) without requiring separate packages.
Open, test and decompress 150+ archive formats and variants, including ACE, CAB, ISO, RAR, ZIPX... Compress (and convert to) 7Z, BALZ/BCM/QUAD, BZ2, GZ, FreeARC, *PAQ, PEA, TAR, WIM, XZ, and ZIP files.
Browse, test, and search archives, read and write to encrypted files.
Compress data, optionally with password protection, add content to (or delete from) existing archives.
Extract entire archives or selective content extraction.
File converter: unpack and re-compress (optimized archive conversion) any read-supported format to any write-supported format - e.g. rar to zip.
Create self-extracting 7Z or ARC archives, and multi volume spanned archives - file splitter.
Secure delete, encrypted password manager, verify checksum and hash for integrity check, find duplicate files.
