PiE Website currently uses darker colors and has a website design that does not reflect a modern, clean look very much. A preliminary assessment of suggested changes is listed below.

I reference CalBlueprint for "borrowing" some ideas from their webpage.

Colors and Fonts

  • Pick lighter colors.
  • Use larger, bolded text for heading text (i.e. h1, h2, etc.)
  • NavBar:
    • Perhaps doesn't have to be a dark blue banner at the top, but can be inverted in color scheme (i.e. black/dark blue on white).
    • Make text capitalized, make text darker, etc.
    • Add hover effects so links change color when you hover over.

Cool things to look into

  • Parallax effects.
  • NavBar changes when you scroll down.
  • Animations when the page loads. (i.e. different things load at different times**
  • Gradient effects for galleries (See Blueprint).
  • Spinning logo when you hover (see Blueprint; it's almost a cliche but tbh it's fun)

Design/ Illustrations

  • PiE Logo looks kind of outdated (primarily because of colors). Perhaps make colors lighter/ more modern, or look into versions of PiE Logo that already exist.
  • Blueprint has a really cool interactive banner to play with. It's a little distracting though.
