Improve remote data provider saving #54

It's kinda flakey right now. Here's a few things to improve it:

Re-enable CRC checks
Redo event queue, the first attempt isn't very good
Combine events in the event queue so there is always only one event in the queue
Make the "Saved/Saving..." feedback work better (it is flapps right now)
