Beam Pattern

Actually, I'm not sure if "beam pattern" is the right thing... what I'm looking for is the ability to configure the metronome in conjunction with the time signature and the ability to stress on certain beats, suppress others, etc.

For example, I'm working on an arrangement right now with a 6/4 time signature; that is, 6 beats per measure, each beat being a quarter note. The thing about this arrangement is that it includes some light/basic percussion on the top of the guitar on the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 6th beats while the 2nd and 5th beats remain silent. I would love to configure the metronome to mimic this percussive pattern. That would make it much easier to practice my percussion for the arrangement along with the metronome.

My not-so-great way to do this without a beam pattern with metronome was to created a second staff in each and every System of the arrangement to include the percussion using the Woodblock instrument, like so:

Each measure has 6 quarter notes with the 2nd and 5th being rests. While this method works, it has significant drawbacks: the second staff takes up a lot of room and so requires excessive scrolling up and down thru the arrangement, it takes a lot work to copy and paste it throughout the arrangement and i feel the need to match up the notes/beats with the other staff in the System which is time consuming a cumbersome to initially align and then maintain as I modify the arrangement.

Is "Beam Pattern" (available on the Time Signature modal dialog) intended to solve for this? I was hopeful because I could avoid the hassle I mentioned above, but as much as I play around with the Beam pattern settings, i don't see any effect of my changes. not sure if its doing anything or not or maybe I'm wrong about what "beam pattern" does.

I don't think the Beam Pattern option would affect that - it just controls how the notes are grouped for the standard notation display. Currently it's just the Metronome Pulses option which controls how frequently the ticks occur

By the way, the second staff could be hidden using a view filter, instead of displaying all the instruments
