hyprland.conf wont apply changes.

It started out with just changing my keyboard layout, however It wont accept any changes.
localectl status, shows me the desired layout. hyprctl devices, says all my decices are style in English (US). I read every discussion or issue related to the topic but it wont work.

After that I tried to fiddle with other settings in the .conf and even after hyprctl reload and a reboot no changes have been applied.

Does anybody have a clue what is going on? Or could try to help me?

The fix was editing the the config in ~/.config/hypr/ as was suggested in Hyprland.conf doesnt change system #1107
