PURE: Payments with UWB RElay-protection

This repo contains the code and data used to evaluate the security and reliability of the Leading Edge detection algorithm proposed in the paper "PURE: Payments with UWB RElay-protection".

Environment & Data

Execute pip install -r requirements.txt to install the python dependencies. Execute source download_datasets.sh to download the datasets collected for the evaluation of PURE.

Pure Security

The folder pure-security contains the data and code to reproduce the security analysis performed in the context of the paper "PURE: Payments with UWB RElay-protection". Specifically, it anaylsis the security of a fixed threshold for leading edge detection using UWB-HRP.

Content

The folder nsame_2000_2500 contains the CIRs collected injecting STSes in a Qorvo DW3000 board with increasing number of correct pulses (from 2000/4096 to 2500/4096) at the maximum power an adversary can transmit before the receiver clips.

How to run

Run

python3 nsame-analyze-plot.py --single nsame_2000_2500

To analyze the attacker success probability with importance sampling.

The script nsame-analyze-sampling.py contains additional plots comparing the experimental results with the theoretical attacker probability.

python3 nsame-analyze-sampling.py --multiple nsame_2000_2500

Pure Reliability

The folder pure-reliability contains the data and code to reproduce the reliability analysis of PURE described in the paper "PURE: Payments with UWB RElay-protection".

Content

The repository contains:

  • The CIRs collected in payment scenarios (in the folder full_test_output)
  • The analysis of such CIRs with a LED and absolute threshold as proposed in the paper.
  • All the code used to collect the data in full_test_output in the folder data_collection

The folder full_test_output contains CIRs collected in:

  • Realistic payment conditions;
  • Payments with purposefully obstructed antenna;
  • Full LoS CIR at less than 20 cm;
  • Sever NLoS The script reliability_analysis.py can be used to plot the results presented in the paper as follows. The script shows examples of the measurement setting together with the CIR and peaks detected by the Qorvo board and PURE. The flag --multiple allows selecting the sets of measurements to include in the analysis. Following are the commands necessary to obtain the paper plots and results.

How to run

Following is a list of command that can be run to process the dataset and produce the plots reported in the paper.
