Installing BCML troubles

Hey guys, really new to python and just wanted to download bcml so i've been trying to follow guides but i'm stumped on this certain part and can't find a way to resolve it. I'm not sure what i need to do or what i need to install to get this resolved. So when i go to download BCML this is what i get:

Uumm, I am not sure what is going on, setuptools code base does not contain a setuptools_init.py file...
Any chance this is being created by a different library, or at least a very old version of setuptools?

Something that you can try is to run pip install --use-pep517 bcml. This will force pip into the "isolation mode" and should minimise the influence of other libraries installed in your system while building the package...

If that does not work, you probably have to go through the installation instructions again provided by the documentation of the package you are trying to install to see if there is something missing.

Please contact the BCML maintainers and ask for updated installation instructions.
The error message seems to indicate the BCML is assuming an old version of setuptools is available in the environment, and this assumption does not seem to hold true in the system.
