Should this project have 2 maintainers instead of just 1 so we get releases without a huge delay?

As everybody can tell, 5.0.0 is very delayed because the current maintainer is absent.

I think the community and contributors should start looking into getting a 2nd maintainer or some other process to get releases out the door sooner.
