On this date the model designer layout is fixed on the upper left side of the layout, so the layout cannot be moved freely. My suggestion would to make the layout movable in any direction freely and to not lock it up in upper left point. To be understood correctly, the functionality I suggesting is adapted in ArcGIS Model builder. Thank you

@samusis Can you add a screenshot showing what you want to be mobile in the model designer. I fail to find an item that can't be moved in the dialog, hence what you call the model designer layout, and more than a decade I saw an ArcGIS Model builder interface. Thanks
Hey again, i give you two recordings, where you can see the differences of layout behaviour. In ArcGIS you as I said, you can move the content freely, while in QGIS it has somewhat a fixed upper left point which you cant go past through.
