Hi Ra, good to see that this project is active. Please take a look at some of those ideas when you have time.

The new version of OpenWRT should be coming soon under the release name of 'Attitude Adjustment'. The final version should be released in a month's time from now.

The distro roadmap shows that it should now be capable of supporting SSP+PIE+PaX which are very useful for hardening the software stack against BO attacks. In the blog comments there was a suggestion about these security features, but they were not available at the time. I was curious if you will be updating the gateway to use this new base.

Can you please add an update mechanism to the gateway so that users can use the newest Tor version?

Also add your email to the project description so people can reach you, as Github removed its messaging function for sometime now.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the new OpenWRT release. I guess it will provide a significant improvement, like the security features you mentioned, for this project. And it should be fairly easy to bump the gateway to the new release.

For updating the Tor client someone needs to build the Tor OpenWRT package files. Currently this is done by the build.sh shell script. Of course it would be possible to add a repository for OpenWRT packages to the Tor gateway. But as long as I have to build the OpenWRT Tor package, it makes little to no difference if I update a package in a repository or upload a binary image to github.

I added a file "AUTHORS" to the project which includes my email address and added it to my github profile.

Thank you for your feedback. If you think I am wrong don't hesitate to correct me. (:
