Process of Flashing Images to Yacto
1 sudo apt-get install gawk wget git-core diffstat unzip texinfo gcc-multilib build-essential chrpath socat cpio python python3 python3-pip python3-pexpect xz-utils debianutils iputils-ping libsdl1.2-dev xterm
git clone git://git.yoctoproject.org/poky -b dunfell
git clone git://git.yoctoproject.org/meta-raspberrypi -b dunfell
git clone https://github.com/openembedded/meta-openembedded.git -b dunfell
2 Now open local.conf
open ==> poky/build/conf/local.conf
Update:
MACHINE ?= "raspberrypi4"
3 Create layer:
inside ==> poky/build $ create-layers ../meta-errorlogger
4 Adding layer:
inside ==> poky/build $ add-layers ../meta-errorlogger
5 Adding Recipes:
1. errorserver
inside ==> /poky/meta-errorlogger/recipe-errorserver/errorserver/files
Paste the source files.
inside ==> /poky/meta-errorlogger/recipe-errorserver/errorserver
Run vi errorserve_0.1.bb
Now modify to run the command do_compile and do_install the errorserver
2. displayserver
inside ==> /poky/meta-errorlogger/recipe-errorserver/errorserver/files
Paste the source files.
inside ==> /poky/meta-errorlogger/recipe-errorserver/errorserver
Run vi errorserve_0.1.bb
Now modify to run the command do_compile and do_install the errorserver
6 inside => poky/build
Install Recipes using :
1. bitbake errorserver
2. bitbake displayserver
7 Now Run bitbake core-image-sato to create the image for raspberrypi
8 Now go to poky/build/tmp/deploy/images/raspberrypi/
search for core-image-sato.wic.bzip2 file
9 Unzip the core-image-sato.wic.bzip2
using command : bzip2 -f -d core-image-sato.wic.bzip2
10 Now search for core-image-sato image using ls -l | grep core*
11 Now insert the microSD card reader on the Linux command:
get the directory of sd card: dev/sdb [default]
12 Now using dd command inside poky/build/tmp/deploy/images/raspberrypi/
dd -f poky/build/tmp/deploy/images/raspberrypi/core-image-sato.wic dev/sdb status=progress
13 Now insert the microSD card on raspberrypi board and boot it.
